Say cheese! This recipe is perfect for busy parents who need a quick and tasty meal that their children will love. With just a few simple ingredients and a microwave, you can whip up a creamy, cheesy, and comforting bowl of Mac and Cheese that will have your little chefs coming back for seconds. We’ve snuck in some peas for a half serving of veggies—they’re a good source of vitamins, minerals, fibre, and even protein.

Ingredients
Preparation
  1. Place water and pasta in Multipurpose Steamer. Microwave with lid on for 8–10 min.
  2. Very carefully remove from microwave and drain.
  3. Stir in seasoning, milk, and butter, if desired. Stir to coat. Stir in frozen peas.
Tips

For a balanced plate, stir 2 cups of steamed veggies into your mac with the frozen peas, and then use up any leftover protein you have on hand, like cooked ground beef, Pulled Pork, or Rotisserie Chicken. Pro tip: cook a big batch of protein ahead of time, divide into 1 lb (450 g) portions, and store in the freezer until you need it.

Perfectly Balance Your Plate

Serve with 12 cup steamed veggies and 4 oz (113 g) tuna, chicken, or tofu.
